This Privacy Policy explains how Markdown Course ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit markdowncourse.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible.

  • Learning progress: Your lesson progress, XP, streak, and certificate name are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not receive or store this on a server.
  • Information you send us: If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include (such as your email address and message).
  • Automatically collected data: Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics or advertising partners may automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site itself uses your browser's local storage to remember your progress. Third-party services we use (see below) may set cookies to deliver, measure, and improve their services, including advertising.

Advertising

We may display ads served by third-party vendors, including Google.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

Analytics

We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site. These tools may collect information such as pages viewed and time on site, in aggregate, to help us improve the experience.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and lessons.
  • To respond to messages you send us.
  • To display and measure advertising, where applicable.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age required by the laws of your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can clear your saved progress at any time by clearing your browser's site data. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and opt out of personalized ads using the links above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
